THIELE gets its own photovoltaic system!
There is a plot of approx. 7,800 m² behind the high-bay warehouse that is not suitable for building buildings. Thus, it represents the perfect place for the PV system. In cooperation with Stadtwerke Iserlohn, a concept was developed that shows that self-generated solar power brings a number of advantages for THIELE.
The system has an output of 750 kWp. This means that about 700,000 kWh is generated annually from the photovoltaic system (provided: The sun is shining!) THIELE's annual electricity demand is 25,000,000 kWh (for comparison: a four-person household has an annual electricity requirement of about 4000 – 5000 kWh).
Another positive effect of the PV system is the saving of CO2 emissions. The "green" electricity saves about 300 tons of CO2 per year. An extrapolation to 20 years of operation results in a CO2 saving of approx. 6,000 tons!
Why is the CO2 balance so important to us?
On the one hand, THIELE as a company has a duty to take responsibility for environmental protection and the containment of global warming. On the other hand, the term "sustainability" is becoming increasingly decisive for banks and credit institutions when granting financing. In addition, it can be assumed that the pricing of CO2. This will make it expensive for the large "CO2 producers".
The photovoltaic system is therefore an important investment for and in the future!
THIELE has set itself the ambitious goal of becoming climate-neutral (CO2-neutral) by 2030.
The project is therefore an important step towards achieving this goal.
